The Alphard Trading Corporation is at the heart of the Marian Hegemony, with the Caesar being the official “owner” of the company. While it hasn’t been a powerful conglomerate, the germanium trade alone makes Alphard Trading Corporation an economic powerhouse. Caesar Ignatius O’Reilly has made it part of his life’s work to turn ATC into a corporation which can rival large Inner Sphere ones. Outside of mining rare materials, like germanium, diamonds and fire opals, ATC now features a few fully functional BattleMech production lines, along the ability to produce Battle Armors. Trade with other minor periphery powers, like the Timbuktu Collective and Rim Territories, have expanded the wealth of the Alphard Trading Corporation.

Recent History

The Alphard Trading Corporation has grown quickly since the end of the Jihad. While the facilities on Perdition were lost, all other facilities were upgraded and improved. ATC’s deal with Kali-Yama allowed them to acquire much needed BattleMech technology, combined with a new understanding of the New Dallas Memory Core. Licensing deals with Kali-Yama has allowed the Alphard Trading Corporation to move away from “primitive” ‘Mechs to a more varied group.

Another important change was the Alphard Trading Corporation investing in the creation of Battle Armor production plants. These were built especially on worlds which needed heavy industries to stimulate economic growth, like Illyria. With constant military contracts from the MHAF, the Alphard Trading Corporation generates a significant amount of GDP for many worlds.

With the Lothian League regaining their independence in 3128, the ATC plant on Leximon passed to a new controller. The ownership structure remains the same, however, with the O’Reilly family controlling a majority stake in it. The Lothians have tried to “nationalize” the company recently, angering Ignatius O’Reilly, leading to a potential invasion of the League.

Plants

The plant on Addhara has been upgraded since 3099 to make up for the loss of the plant on Perdition. Recently, it has started producing newer BattleMechs and more advanced tanks and hovertanks.

The Alphard plant used to be the largest one in the company. It has been eclipsed recently, but it still produces many advanced BattleMechs (for the region) and equipment. It is also the best defended plant, with elements of I Legio often being stationed to protect it.

The plant on Illyria is the largest one now. While it concentrates on the production of Battle Armor, new production lines for troop transports have been opened. A deal has been struck as well with Quikscell Speciality Manufacturing to produce the Helldiver OmniMech starting in late 3153.

The Leximon plant has had a lot of their investment pulled so the Lothian League cannot take advantage of it. It mainly produces standard tanks and hovertanks, along with Inner Sphere Standard Battle Armor.

Pompey has mostly been a mining operation. A plant was built there to produce MiningMechs and equipment.
