Claudio Brett

Claudio Brett is the overall general of the Tamarind Regulars, and commanding officer of the 1^st Tamarind Regulars. Amazingly young for a man in this position, “Ironside” Brett got the position due to a mix of nepotism and surprising luck. His nickname comes from the fact he does have a good understanding of strategy, especially in terms of preventing flanking actions. His first actual claim to fame came from holding back the Second Bolan Guards until Fontaine Marik (internal) came to the rescue to complete the invasion of Bolan.

War against the Empire

With the vast majority of the Wolf Empire force having been moved to Terra, Claudio Brett was waiting for Fontaine Marik to approve strikes against the Empire before taking any actions. Unlike Gavin Stewart who had started “illegal actions” against Clan Wolf, Ironside Brett knew that in the end, it was parliament which decided things in the Free Worlds League. With Fontaine Marik leading the vote for an invasion, Claudio organized the entire Tamarind Regulars into 3 groups: one to try to recover lost worlds for the League, one to defend against retaliatory strikes by the Wolves and one to probe the Lyran Commonwealth for weaknesses.

Against Mu Galaxy

The 1^st Tamarind faced the 18^th Wolf Garrison Cluster, or at least what remained of it, on LaBouchere to reclaim this world for House Brett-Marik. Even as a 2^nd line unit with a terrible reputation, Mu Galaxy had had most of their “key personnel” taken for the Battle of Terra. Second and third line ‘mechs, unarmored infantry and basic armor faced a fully modern, top of the line 1^st Tamarind Regulars. Local population could not care less who was in charge of the planet and simply went on living their lives under a new flag.

Capitalizing on his victories, General Claudio Brett moved his unit to Niihau, where he faced the 40^th Wolf Garrison, against from Mu Galaxy. Having been warned by retreating warriors from the 18^th Wolf Garrison, the 40^th was more ready to meet the 1^st Tamarind. While also under-equipped, the two Mu Galaxy garrison units had joined together and started getting supplies from Clan Sea Fox from the manufacturing worlds of the Empire. Bogged down for longer than he wanted, Claudio Brett still managed to conquer the planet. Needing repairs and resupply, the Claudio Brett also learned of strikes by unidentified units against the Tamarind Regular supply posts.

Fighting Caesar’s Legions

While planning for a strike against Preston, Claudio Brett received orders from Fontaine Marik to move part of his troops out of the Wolf Empire to meet incoming Marian Hegemony forces. Angered by the murder of his wife (and a senate vote), Ignatius O’Reilly (internal) had mobilized his legions to strike out against Fontaine Marik’s Duchy of Tamarind. Relocating forces from the Lyran front to hold his winnings, Claudio Brett redeployed the 1^st Tamarind in a defensive posture to face the incoming Marian forces.
