Marv Roshak is the Loremaster of Clan Jade Falcon after the Battle of Terra. His primary claim to fame comes from defending Malvina Hazen’s downed battlemech against the Old Guard in Geneva. A courageous and dedicated individual, Marv Roshak did not adhere to the Mongol Doctrine but understood its reasoning. Having been elected by acclamation to the Loremaster position, Marv Roshak was unsure of what he needed to do to manage the Watch, having been a MechWarrior and not a politician or intelligence officer.

The Three Watchmasters

Gathering his Watch agents and their data, Marv Roshak was approached by Aberdeen Mehta (internal) in a plan to solidify the New Star League intelligence network. Roshak, Mehta and Clan Smoke Jaguar’s Josh Wirth (internal) began building a connected network of agents and operators rather than focusing on their personal Watches. Josh Wirth was the veteran in this affair, having already served in covert operation with the Fidelis. Mehta was the political mind behind the operation, becoming the face of the operation with Alaric Ward. Marv Roshak saw himself as the junior partner and not very relevant until he realized the other two valued his opinion and actions significantly.

In order to make the New Star League look palatable to all other parties, mainly with Clan Ghost Bear and Clan Snow Raven, Marv Roshak was tasked with ironing out documents in regards to the alliances. Using Lloyd’s Of New London telegram services, he reached out to his Loremaster counterparts in other clans and head of intelligence in other groups. While the major Inner Sphere powers did not respond positively, many of them were happy to at least state their intentions towards the New Star League. Waiting for votes in both the Raven Alliance and Rasalhague Dominions, both other Clan nations stated categorically they were not going to fight the New Star League at this point.

Gathering At Gienah

After meeting with Alaric Ward in regard to the future of the New Star League with the other Watchmasters, Marv Roshak accompanied Aberdeen Mehta to Gienah. There he presided over a few trial of positions and bloodrights for Clan Jade Falcon with Khan Stephanie Chistu (internal).

Marv Roshak was present at the reaving of the Wolf’s Dragoons, using his watch agents and intelligence network to evaluate potential recruits for Clan Jade Falcon.

Controlling the Mongols

Coming back to Sudeten, Marv Roshak began a plan to properly manage the more rambunctious elements of his Clan. Fred Buhallin’s (internal) Mongol Warriors could easily become a problem both for Khan Stephanie Chistu and the New Star League. Marv Roshak spent a lot of his resources to channel the aggression of those warriors toward renegade mercenary units and other malcontents.

As the Capellan – Star League War drew near, Loremaster Roshak figured that having those warriors fighting on the front would be the best idea, even though this would bring minimal rewards to Clan Jade Falcon. Marv Roshak explained to Fred Buhallin that this was not pointless sacrifice, as the Mongols would do what they do best, all the while serving the greater good of the New Star League.

Dealing with the corporations

Through Lawrence Roshak (internal), Clan Jade Falcon had gathered several grievances and recommendations from the population of the Jade Falcon Occupation Zone. Marv Roshak reviewed those pleas and found a good number of them could be implemented with minimal issues. First amongst these was the major corporations wanting to have their own secure areas under their control rather than be managed under the Clan Merchant Caste. As Clan Jade Falcon was building the New Star League central bank, those corporate enclaves would trade everything in Star League Dollars, while staying outside of the caste system. The Merchant Caste, already angry from the treatment of High Syndic Marena (internal), tried to oppose Marv Roshak’s proposition, but he was backed up by the Khan, saKhan and the “average citizen” of the Occupation Zone.
