Ailani Arano (Ngaio) was a happy recipient of the Aurigan Youth Prosperity Program. As with most member of House Arano, she was placed in a upper-class family where she was trained in economics and psychology. Without military training, Ailani Ngaio did not believe she would ever be considered to lead the Aurigan Trade Alliance. She concentrated on her studies, graduating with a Masters in psychology, with a minor in economy. With her education, she then joined the Coromodir police force, quickly climbing the ranks to become the youngest Captain to lead a squad.
Becoming Head of the House
When Lady Noelani Arano retired to take care of her (numerous) children, Ailani Arano was not sure what the Trial would entail to become the next Countess of Coromodir. The whole operation quickly turned into a management game, where each of the Arano bloodline member had to manage simulations of situations and economic forecasts, both of which Ailani was rather skilled at. She claimed the title as all the other members dropped out or failed the tests.
As Head of State
Crowned in 3146, Ailani Arano began a reform of the police system throughout the Aurigan Trade Alliance, including an overhaul of the criminal prosecution system. While a lot of prosecutors disliked this motion, the increased access to fair trials in the Reaches was seen as a major positive for all involved. Investment in additional police BattleMech was seen excessive at first, but with the unrest of the upcoming War in the Reaches, it was seen as a positive as well.
As the tension between the Aurigan Trade Alliance and Fronc Reaches reached a boiling point, Ailani Arano attempted to negotiate a peaceful resolution until the shooting started. For the duration of the conflict, Ailani Arano deescalated the situation at every turn, even making sure Khan Mori Hawker of Clan Sea Fox did not take charge of the war and lead to unnecessary deaths.
Battlemech
Lady Ailani Arano has learned to pilot a BattleMech after becoming head of state, piloting her family’s heirloom Atlas II.
