The New Leader of Clan Nova Cat
The Spirit Cats were not sure what they were supposed to do with Clan Wolf having taken Terra. Scared of damaging their relationship with the newly reborn Free Worlds League, Rikkard Nova Cat was challenged to a Trial by SaKhan Petr Kalasa of Clan Sea Fox to have his limited troops move to protect the Wolf Empire. Defeated, Rikkard began mobilizing his forces when two jumpships from Clan Sea Fox came in Marik, carrying two clusters of brand new second-line battlemechs and odd custom equipment, originating from the Rim-ward Periphery. Quick Trials of Placement were given to those who were allied with the Spirit Cats, increasing the overall force of the fledgling nation.
As his forces began fighting against Lyran and Wolf’s Dragoons forces, Rikkard refused to engage Free World League’s forces in the Wolf Empire, but rather than remaining “Spirit Cats”, he had his troops take the Nova Cat as their logo again. Star Colonel Othar met with Rikkard and shared military information with him, along with providing the new Nova Cats more resources and equipment, including a number of “not quite failed” warriors to bolster his reborn Clan.
Protectorate or Occupation Zone?
After the defense of the Wolf Empire, Rikkard did not know where to bring his troops, but Nikol Marik sent a courier to tell him that he was still welcome in the Spirit Cat Protectorate, as long as he and his troops would not take action against the Free Worlds League, and agree to assist them if required in operations not against other Clan forces. Petr Kalasa and the people of Mitsubishi Ltd. Galactics had already brought construction equipment to Marik to assist with the building of an official Nova Cat headquarters, along with new ‘mech facilities for their forces. Against his best judgement, Rikkard Rwabdogo was given the title of Khan of Clan Nova Cat after being given his bloodname.
War for Terra
Rikkard Rwabdogo was rebuilding his Clan forces when the Hell’s Horses Trial of Possession came through, and messages brought to him by corporate assets in the Clan Protectorate told him he would not be required to defend Terra at the time. Rikkard concentrated on promoting a number of paramilitary police and lower Warriors to full MechWarrior and Aerospace Fighter pilots, as well as opening up recruitment to Freeborns within the Clan Protectorate to bolster his Clan forces. By the time the Liao assault on Terra began, Rikkard had roughly 1 standard Galaxy and 2 provisional Galaxies ready for operation but rather than deploying directly “to the front”, Rikkard ordered his men to perform raids and destabilization strikes along the Liao border, with the support of the FWLM, cementing his position as both a friend of Clan Wolf and House Marik.
