Mutt and Junkyard’s Background

Cobra is not the only nefarious organization in the greater human controlled space, and the Clans have a few different groups which could be regarded as very evil. The most influencial one is probably The Society, whose scientists have been working tirelessly since the founding of the Clans to alter the power structure of the Clan caste system to put their own group at the top.

Mutt and Junkyard are the result of one of the Society experiment, where they created a sibko for mechwarriors who would be bonded to a group of dogs, which would then be used in further weapons for the Society. This whole experiment was taking place within Clan Hell’s Horse, in full sight of the Khan who was happy to test new weapons and new equipment after the failure of their Clan to secure a position in the Operation REVIVAL. Stanley Hell’s Horse was one of the better warrior of the sibko, and also one of the ones who most easily bonded with the genetically engineered dogs.

It was after Stanley Ravenwater won his bloodname that he realized just how awful the dog program actually was, both for the animal and to the mechwarrior. When the warrior’s bonded animal died, the implants they both carried caused terrible pain and mental anguish, leading either of them to become insane. Clan Mongoose, in their fight against Clan Cloud Cobra, had learned of this experiment and decided to rescue those who were still part of this Society program.

Stanley was happy to move away from Clan Hell’s Horse, but unlike the other warriors who decided to retire to the lower Castes, he decided to join the Mongoose fight and quickly moved to the Inner Sphere to assist GI Joe.
