OVERVIEW:

Founding and Star League era

Founded by Aldous Hamric in 2752, Hamric Industries started as an inexpensive but reliable weapons manufacturing business on the fringes of the Free Worlds League. They were known for buying, selling, and developing weaponry for other nearby planets, the Free Worlds League when Huntington became FWL territory, and Periphery nations willing to do business with them. The Hamrics were also known for their own small branch of technological research. Before the Amaris Coup, they began expanding into ‘mech retrofits and designing prototype battlemechs. After the collapse of Star League, they utilized their industrial base to sell reliable weaponry at lower prices than their Lyran competitors.

Hamric Industries during the Succession Wars

Over the course of the first succession war, with the possibility of getting attacked by Capellan, Lyran, or pirate forces, the Hamric’s decided to utilize some of their money and products to create their own self defense force, which eventually integrated with and took over the continents local Huntington Militia to create the Huntington Hammers. With the rise of mercenary forces, the abundant atrocities committed across the Inner Sphere, and the desire to personally assure certain business transactions were successfully delivered, the Hamric’s created the personally run Hamric’s Hammers, otherwise known as H.A.M.M.E.R. (Humanitarian Aid and Mobilized Military Enforcement Respondence). This semi-mercenary PMC force allowed them to enforce and protect their arms dealings across the inner sphere, earn extra cash by selling their services, and occasionally providing humanitarian aid to planets and settlements ravaged by the Succession Wars and pirate raids.

Their factories on Huntington, as well as their newer ones on Logan Prime and Landfall, remained relatively unscathed from the Succession Wars, due to their low profile and willingness to do business more often than throwing hands.

Hamric Industries’s Subsidiaries

Over time, Hamric Industries grew in size and funding, allowing it to diversify its portfolio into other areas of development besides armaments.

Flatwell Armaments

The branch of Hamric Industries focused on arms development and manufacturing. They provide some of their own unique designs to well used weaponry throughout the Inner Sphere. A list of their common products below:

“Flatwell-4” SRM Launcher

Four linearly alligned missile tubes make for a “flat” missile launcher design. Meant for a lower profile when installed on a mech so its less likely to be damaged, and with the ability to “stack” onto other Flatwell launchers if required.

“Big Iron” Class-10 Autocannon
Designed with a shorter barrel to be less unwieldy, it’s design is more stout with an ammo-bin reminiscent of a revolver. An alternate feed design is available for use with more than 1 Ton of ammunition.

“Sun-Hammer 40” Large Laser

It’s designed not only for reliable energy consumption, but with a sleeve similar to a Federated Autocannon for protection in melee combat.

Mech-Fit Solutions

As the Succession Wars rolled by, the necessity for refitting Battlemechs became a business all on its own, either to replace unavailable weaponry or to improve on what already exists. They’re known for their custom, limited run, and to-order mech refits, having made some notable variations of certain designs they keep on hand in catalog.

Death Basket Technologies:

During the Succession wars, Hamric Industries tried its hand at designing a Battlemech based off of a modified Crucis-A chassis (typically used in the Wolverine). By creating a subsidiary to handle the task, the result was a home grown battlemech design with a limited run in production for both personal use and commissions to nearby worlds, the Death Basket. Outside of their own forces, its a rarely seen mech, especially outside of the FWL/Periphery border where its practically non-existent, and can be easily confused for a customized Wolverine…

“Variety is the spice of war. So, time to make some jambalaya!”

– Bartholomew Hamric

Hamric Industries Forces:

Forces are split into two areas; Mercenary and Local Huntington Militia. The mercenary arm, Hamric’s Hammers, usually range from a single Lance to an entire company of Mechs, depending on the situation or tactical importance of an objective. This allows for rapid and decisive deployment, whether to enforce a trade, raid enemy forces, or supply reinforcements to allies. Though sometimes used interchangibly, Hamric’s Hammers and the H.A.M.M.E.R. organization are technically two different aspects of the same whole.

H.A.M.M.E.R. (Humanitarian Aid and Mobilized Military Enforcement Respondance) acts as the official business end of their dealings related to trade agreements, defense contracts, and logistics in relation to humanitarian and weapon supplies. The acronym also acts as the official doctrine of Hamric forces; to provide military support and aid to those that it can, especially its allies. Though the Hamrics can be ruthless businessmen and fighters, they are all raised with a strong moral core, which bleeds into their company and mercenary policies; “If we can afford it, why the hell not do some good?”. This includes providing planetary protection, evactuation defense, precise strikes, and Humanitarian support to those in need.

As for the local Militia, the Huntington Hammers, forces round up to roughly near a regiment on planet near Hamric Industries HQ. They not only provide protection for the manufacturing and engineering facilities, but the local cities and towns as well on the continent. Leopard class drop ships allow for fast local transportation if and when necessary for rapid deployment in an emergency. Though officially local militia forces, they’ve been subsidized by Hamric Industries to improve local defense.

Though their Mechs are varied, there tends to be an abundance of Thunderbolts and Wolverines among the forces. Weather this is personal appeal or due to trade deals is up for debate.

“My only regret is that we’re not close enough to the Taurians to do good business with them. Then again, we’d be closer to the ****** Cappies.”

– Nathaniel Hamric

Hamric Industries’ Realations

Over the years Hamric Industries and it’s branch organizations have grown varying rivalries and relationships across different factions.

Free World League

Hamric Industries and the FWL share a positive relationship, promoting trade deals and nearby refits when the League Militia are conducting operations nearby. Of course, that’s when they’re ever really around. Due to Huntington’s location near the periphery, the FWL support recieved get is minimal at times, with more pressing issues and conflicts taking up Marik’s manpower and forces. The Hamric’s don’t view the Free Worlds League or the Marik’s in any real negative light, but they’ve learned to not be reliant on them and rely on their own independant strengths, having adopted a “Huntington First” attitude. They’ve also made sure to build up relations with nearby FWL planets near the borders for security and business deals.

Lyran Commonwealth

Hamric Industries is constantly in rivalry with other smaller Lyran manufacturers, and wary of doing business due to their penchant for invading at times. Still, there’s a healthy respect shared between the different arms dealers, and the relationship can overall be rocky at worst of times. Occasional scuffles with Lyran mercenaries or military expeditions, or even encounters during their own mercenary work, are to be expected from time to time, and used as lessons for the Lyrans as to why they should buy weapons with the Hamric Standard Guarantee.

Capellan Confederation

Sour relations spoil any possibility of good business; most Hamric’s throughout the years view the Capellans in a negative light for their collectivism and historically untrustworthy actions.

Lothian League

Good; H.A.M.M.E.R. provides trade deals to help supply Mechs and weaponry, as well as personal combat intervention on occasion, to fight off pirates. They’re also closely tied with local forces on the tundra of Logan Prime once they discovered their unique local [Air-Slip Mechs]. Though the locals of the Lothian League are descendants of untrusting Taurian patriots, over the years the Hamrics have built up a professional business relationship to the point of amicability with the LL in general, and hold particularly close ties with the people and militia of Logan Prime.

Other Periphery Nations

Always willing to do business and provide mercenary work at a fair rate. They view the Taurians in an especially positive light with their independant spirit and lack of respect for the Five Houses or the Star League of old.

Hamric Industries and ComStar

Amiable up to Anton’s revolt in 3015. Not so great afterward due to events that took place…
