Overview:
VTOLAM technology slowly spread out throughout the Inner Sphere, with it reaching the AFFS after they captured a number of Raven VTOLAM and Spider VTOLAM from House Liao and House Kurita. Buying the Locust VTOLAM basic specification from Interstellar Expeditions to supplement their knowledge, the
newly recovered factories of Corean on New Avalon started working on a new version of the Valkyrie which could integrate this technology.
The end result was suprising to both the AFFS forces and Clan Sea Fox, which had invested a small amount in the design as well with a quarter of the first production run going for sale on their side, having provided the engine and missile launcher for the design. Very comparable to the original Valkyrie, the
massive increase in mobility granted by the Improved Jump Jets powered VTOL mode is being studied to be copied in other designs.
Capabilities:
Unlike most VTOLAM, the Valkyrie VTOLAM is much slower on the ground than in its VTOL mode, as it uses Improved Jump Jets, giving it a top speed for 85kmph on foot, but 130kmph or so in VTOL mode. Armor was replaced with Laser-reflective model to be effective in combat against many Clan forces and
House Kurita forces, with 6 tons of a modernized compound.
For weapons, the arm laser is now a re-engineered medium laser to fight against said modernized armors, along with a Clan-grade LRM 10 fed with 1 ton of ammunition.
