Overview:


The DCMS was originally not interested at all in the concept of VTOLAM, but Nimakachi Limited decided to drop a cool mil or two towards Interstellar Expeditions and get the plans of the Locust VTOLAM to reverse engineer it.

A year later walked out the factory floor the first generation of the Spider VTOLAM, which also copied some elements from the Hell’s Horse Icestorm VTOLAM. Meant as a fast scout with increased mobility, this new Spider probably would have been sold to mercenaries if Yori Kurita didn’t decide to just buy up the entire production run to re-arm forces lost to the Davion counter-attack on the Dragon’s Tongue.

Capabilities:


The Spider VTOLAM uses basic components for the original Spider and Venom to make a fast, fairly durable light scout ‘mech along with a cavalry support unit. The weapons mounted in each side torsoes are copies of the Davion Medium Re-Engineered Lasers, allowing the Spider VTOLAM to be deadly against speciality armor types. Speaking of speciality armor, this mech uses 6 and a half tons of Ballistic-Reinforced armor to protect against missiles and flak rounds.
