Overview:


Earthwerks negotiated first with Defiance to buy off the plans of the Locust VTOLAM before they realized Interstellar Expeditions actually were peddling them “on the cheap” and jumping on the opportunity. So started the design phase of the Flea VTOLAM, which was simpler than expected.


First, jump jets from the Stinger were integrated in the design, with a proven GM 150 Light engine and a reinforced 25 tons endo-steel chassis (which was already posited for a future evolution of the Flea). While the armor protection remained light, Earthwerks went and loaded the machine with as heavy weapons as
they could to make the Flea VTOLAM a combination of an incendiary mech and cavalry hunter.


Capabilities:


Even with a top speed of only 96kmph, the Flea VTOLAM believes that “being ignored” is the best protection. People generally don’t think a Flea is going to cause a lot of trouble, but with a pair of Medium X-Pulse Lasers and ER Flamers, this model can deal some significant damage before setting things on fire and running away in “flying box” mode. With only two and a half tons of light ferro-fibrous armor, this might be asking a bit much of the design…
