Firefly VTOLAM

Overview

Based off the old (yet still new to the Inner Sphere, somewhat) Firefly, the Firefly VTOLAM is a design by Defiance, built on Tharkad in minuscule amounts. As the second testbed for the VTOLAM technology for the LCAF, the Firefly VTOLAM is not equipped with the most advanced technology available. Using a Light Engine and endo-steel to keep the weight low on a chassis that is already heavier, the standard Firefly’s anti-missile still had to be stripped off to make room for the full conversion equipment.

Thankfully, the rest of the basic weaponry on the design remains more or less the same, with a trio of ER Medium Lasers (Clan ER Medium lasers were used on the original prototype, but mass-production would have been difficult) and a MML-5 to allow for long range and short range missile usage. Seven and a half tons of standard armor and a CASE II protect the design.
