Cobra 1st Company, a painting project for GI Joe X Battletech super crossover.
I had a bunch of minis I had gotten from various blind boxes, and as I got the crossover work started, I decided I would try some painting on them. This is the Cobra 1st Company, led by Major Bludd and Destro, in their custom Victor and Marauder.
Major Bludd’s Victor is a bit of a bust, I should have used a lighter brown for the base coat on white primer, to make the black highlights pop out more. This is really my bad. I should have thought of that, but I didn’t know how the Constrast paint would behave, as this is a color I never used.
Destro has the same kind of color scheme has the Inner Sphere Cobra units, but that was not really wanted. I was looking for a really dark blue and red for him, while I was testing other colors for the Spheroids. It still came out good for his Marauder, which is enough for me to appreciate.
The Clan Cloud Cobra Vipers came out way better than the Inner Sphere ones. Light blue with red highlights is a simple color scheme, in the end. The black highlights like the old helmet the Cobra soldiers use is also good.
All of it was done using Citadel paints, except for the base coat, which was done using Wolf Grey primer on the Vipers, and Matte White on the hero leaders, both from Army Painter in rattlecans.
